Daniel Faucher university sports complex - Toulouse

The sports facilities were destroyed by the explosion of the nearby AZF chemical plant in September 2001. They are being replaced with a new spacious, "Spartan" sports complex, sharing a site with the Toulouse Stadium, a veritable sports palace with a straightforward, virile architecture resulting from the exteriorization of its imposing metal structure, with main supports placed 6 m apart, in the presence of concrete totems (sunshades or signposts) The suspension of large porticos (50 m) at the entrance zone provides support for a "flyover" awning above the outdoor bleachers. The tension thus created enhances the visual and functional link between the large room and the stadium.
